Temple of giants

Temple of Giants was a 7 week long project where I worked with a team of about 16 other students, of which 7 designers.

 

While developing the game I got the privilege to lead the team of designers as lead designer and oversee design processes, important decisions made and hash out any problems that may exist during the development of the game with other leads.

 

As I was with this project from the start I also helped design the initial concept of the game, design character, ability and game features and also design and balance the 3 C’s.

 

After the basics I was in charge of UI/UX where I designed all UI screens such as the start, pause and end screens and also the in game UI and VFX placement.

Key achievements

Menu screens

Temple of Giants UI was entirely designed with the seed of Greek Temple in mind. After creating the menu flows in Adobe XD and then collaborating with artists for mockups I was able to create this main menu.

The menu flows, button and settings functionality is all done using blueprints.

Sound, VFX design and QA

Next to UI and lead responsibilities, I was also in charge of identifying features and locations that needed VFX and sound effects.

They were written down in a detailed document after which the VFX artist would make the effects and then I would check back if it fit right at the intended location.

For sound, I made the sound library together with another designer and we added the sounds in the game together.
